United Methodist Women (also known as UMW) seek to support and nurture one another, to grow in our Christian faith, and to serve our church and community through outreach focused on women, children, and youth. Our group is open to women of all ages.
We support and nurture one another through monthly meetings and outings, our annual Christmas dinner, taking meals to each other when someone is ill, and going on mission trips together.
We grow in our Christian faith by studying the Bible; learning about mission trips our members have taken, reading books focused on mission, spiritual growth, and social issues, and hearing about mission projects carried out by local mission workers.
We serve our church and community by hosting an annual Mother’s Day party for inmates at the Indiana Women’s Prison, making baby bundles for moms who need help, putting together back packs with school supplies for children, taking treats to our shut-in members, serving funeral dinners, and providing/serving meals for inner-city programs .
These are a few of the things we do as well as having fun being together and deepening our relationships. We have two groups (called Circles) who meet throughout the year.
Friendship Circle typically meets the first Friday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Watch the Sunday bulletins for more information. Contact Elaine Pittman, 595.9625 or elainepittman@comcast.net
