CHIP ~ Operation for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention
You can end homelessness in Indianapolis. The city has adopted a 10-year plan to end homelessness. Many people and organizations are already engaged in the city's Blueprint to End Homelessness.

Habitat for Humanity ~
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis joins with low-income families and other community partners to provide home ownership opportunities and build communities of hope as an expression of God's love. Castleton UMC is an active participant in the annual sponsorship of a home built by the United Methodist Church Central District. Contact John Gilligan for local information.

Interfaith Hospitality Network ~
The Interfaith Hospitality Network is a national organization with a chapter in Indianapolis. Castleton United Methodist Church (CUMC) is one of 26 congregations participating to provide one week of housing to families who find themselves homeless. During the week that Castleton Church provides shelter in the Ministries Center to a group of pre-screened families, help is needed in providing meals, transportation, and evening or overnight hospitality. Mission Guatemala ~
Castleton UMC has teamed up with Pastor Tom Heaton and the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church in supporting Mission Guatemala. Pastor Heaton is ministering to the native Mayans providing education, medical and dental care, seeing to housing needs and more. Castleton church has been collecting over the counter medications to donate to the medical clinic located in San Andres Semetabaj, Guatemala. In 2011 Castleton church will send two mission teams along with financial assistance to the mission.

Operation Classroom ~
Provides student supplies for school, medical supplies and health kit supplies to the Brumskine School in Liberia. The next scheduled packing parties are April 10, 2011, at Lawrence UMC; July 17, 2011, at St. Marks UMC and October 23, 2011, at Faith UMC. Most packing parties are scheduled from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoons.
