Gardening Interest Group
The Gardening Interest Group began in the summer of 2004 when Chuck Porterfield decided to call together fellow gardeners to form a Small Interest Group. Gardening was his passion.
The Group has grown since then, and has been quite active. We meet a few times a year on no particular schedule. We have toured large and small gardens, traveled to Herb Farms, shared plants, attended seminars, had guest speakers, sought answers to gardening questions and helped make the long discussed Meditation Garden a reality. Three of us made an overnight trip in 2008 to Northern Indiana to see Amish Quilt Gardens and laughed the entire time. And we sometimes eat!
There are no registration forms, no mandatory attendance or dues. You don't even need to have a garden - just an interest in gardening. All are welcome - men and women, young and old.
Watch the bulletins for announcements of meetings. If you have questions or would like to be on our contact list please contact Karen Morse at 579-1569 or kvmo1@comcast.net (The photo below was taken in the Meditation Garden)
